Management history

Forty-five years of knowing who can actually do the job.

In 1977, Grant Thiem Sr. purchased Padre Printers & Lithographers. Grant Thiem Jr. graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1981 with a degree in Printing Management, later taking over operations and growing Padre Printers into the largest commercial printing company in the region by 2000.

In early 1985, Padre Printers merged into Thiem Graphics, Inc. In 1987, Trade Printing was also acquired and merged into Thiem Graphics, Inc., consolidating operations under a single company.

In 1989 and 1990, Grant Thiem Jr. served as a consultant to the United Nations, traveling to Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Thailand to advise printing companies on technology and process improvements, helping them compete in the global marketplace.

In 1990, Trade of Mexico opened in Tijuana, becoming one of the first maquiladora plants of its kind.

In 2001, Trade International Group was launched, operating as a printing broker and consultant.

In 2013, Our Foods Inc. was formed as a packer of frozen foods, developing a product line made especially for the Dollar Store market. Within two years, the product became one of the best-selling frozen items in the Dollar Tree and 99 Cents Only chains. Our Foods was also instrumental in working with Monterey Mushrooms to bring their first frozen food items to market.
